The Neville Public Museum

Collections Department

The Collections Department is the door to all of the materials held by the Museum. Our community's efforts since 1915 have resulted in the assembly of an outstanding collection of artifacts, photographs, and documents. The Museum uses these historical items to educate visitors about universal cultural diversity. This collection has grown to embrace nearly one million objects that reflect the heritage of many different cultural communities, the natural sciences, and the artistic expressions of various times and peoples.

Inside the collections a researcher may consult a variety of Museum resources including:

  • Permanent collection of over 100,000 three-dimensional historic and prehistoric artifacts.

  • Photograph collection of approximately one million images and four million feet of news film.
